Zamora-Valdes D, et al. - A scrutiny was performed of the long-term outcomes for obese patients undergoing liver transplantation (LT) including a non-invasive weight loss program and combined LT and sleeve gastrectomy (SG). Though weight loss was achieved before transplantation by obese patients, weight regain was discovered to be common in the LT cohort. More effective and more durable weight loss, along with fewer metabolic complications at last follow-up was achieved via combined LT+SG.
