Haehnel O, et al. - Children with distal finger trauma and Atasoy flap (AF, a vascularized, subcutaneous pedicle V-Y advancement flap used to cover a loss of distal finger substance) pulp reconstruction in a pediatric orthopedic department (n = 30) between 2008 and 2017 were retrospectively evaluated in order to determine whether AF was a safe, reliable flap that leads to few complications and provides satisfactory functional and cosmetic outcomes in children. The AF produced conflicting outcomes. Moreover, through suboptimal tip length/shape, the appearance of the nail, and sensitivity, high reliability, great coverage, and minimum donor-site morbidity were negotiated.
