Long-term outcomes of arthroscopic debridement with or without drilling for osteochondritis dissecans of the capitellum in adolescent baseball players: a ≥10-year follow-up study

Arthroscopy May 07, 2020

Matsuura T, Iwame T, Suzue N, et al. - Researchers examined the long-term clinical outcomes of arthroscopic debridement for capitellar osteochondritis dissecans (OCD) in adolescent baseball players via performing a retrospective study evaluating clinical outcomes in 23 elbows of 23 baseball players (mean age, 14.7 [range, 13–17] years) who underwent arthroscopic debridement for capitellar OCD. During the mean follow-up duration of 11.5 (range, 10–13) years, they observed that adolescent baseball players returned to play for positions other than pitchers after undergoing arthroscopic debridement with or without drilling. Durable long-term outcomes were reported regardless of lesion size.
