Mantel A, et al. - Researchers aspired to gauge the long-term outcomes in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) compared with non-RA patients with ACS. Furthermore, they examined if the use of secondary preventive drugs could elucidate any variations in ACS outcome. An increased risk of ACS recurrence and of death was disclosed in patients with RA, following ACS compared with the general cohort. This could not be elucidated by differences in usage of secondary preventive drugs.
