Long term outcome of small head metal-on-metal total hip arthroplasty: A 15-to-22 year follow-up
Journal of Arthroplasty Apr 23, 2021
Maliarov A, Huk OL, Epure LM, et al. - This study was attempted to present the long-term outcome of small head metal-on-metal total hip arthroplasty. Researchers performed168 consecutive primary Metasul total hi arthroplasties in 144 patients between 1997 and 2004. In this study, HHS and UCLA scores were used for clinical patient assessment. They conducted Cobalt and Chromium ions levels measurement and standard radiographic assessment. The evidence suggested that excluding the recalled components, at a minimum follow-up of 15 years, metasul articular interface has performed extremely well in this relatively young population. In the entire cohort, there were two interface-related revisions.
