Clinical Ophthalmology Mar 25, 2019
Honglertnapakul W, et al. - Researchers evaluated 20 individuals to examine the long-term motor and sensory consequences of the full tendon vertical rectus transposition (VRT) with Foster suture for unilateral complete sixth cranial nerve palsy. They noticed esotropia 65 (40–130) PD, median (IQR) preoperative deviation with improvement up to 10 (-4 to 45) PD postoperatively. They also found the median (IQR) preoperative limitation of abduction, -15° (-22.5° to 10°), which improved to 15° (7.5°–45°) pass midline postoperatively. They reported residual esotropia in 45% of the non-successful group.
