Long-term outcome in children with juvenile dermatomyositis: A single-center study from north India

Sharma A, et al. - All children diagnosed as juvenile dermatomyositis (JDM, commonest childhood inflammatory myopathy) and on follow-up for more than 2 years were recruited in order to assess the long-term outcomes of these children using authorized outcome measures. In total, 37 individuals were involved of which 19 were male. Neck flexors were the most ordinarily influenced muscle group. Fourteen children had evident cutaneous activity. In a notable proportion of people, skin disease proceeded to be active. Furthermore, in more than half of the population, characteristics of damage, namely calcinosis and lipodystrophy, were observed. Additionally, muscle disease normalized in a large proportion of participants.
