Long-term oncological outcomes in robotic gastrectomy versus laparoscopic gastrectomy for gastric cancer: A meta-analysis
Surgical Endoscopy Oct 05, 2017
Pan JH, et al. - This meta-analysis sought to compare the long-term oncological outcomes of robotic gastrectomy (RG) and laparoscopic gastrectomy (LG) for gastric cancer. Findings suggested a potential of RG in providing comparable long-term oncological outcomes as well as LG for the treatment of gastric cancer. In long-time follow-up, RG and LG were comparable regarding overall survival (OS), disease-free survival (DFS), and the recurrence rate. More randomized clinical trials and a larger patient cohort with longer follow-up were still essential to further investigate the value of the robotic surgery for gastric cancer.
