Molina J, et al. – A quasi–experimental study of interrupted time–series analysis was designed to assess long–term impact of an educational antimicrobial stewardship program on hospital–acquired candidemia and multidrug–resistant bloodstream infections. Findings demonstrated the effectiveness of this education–based ASP in decreasing the incidence and mortality of hospital acquired candidemia and multidrug–resistant bacteria bloodstream infections (MDR–BSI) through a sustained reduction in antibiotic use.
