Long-term functional outcomes and quality of life at minimum 10 year follow-up after fixed-bearing unicompartmental knee arthroplasty and total knee arthroplasty for isolated medial compartment osteoarthritis
Journal of Arthroplasty Nov 06, 2020
Tan WPM, Ng WLS, Chen JY, et al. - The present study was sought to correlate the long-term functional outcome and quality-of-life (QoL) between total knee arthroplasty (TKA) and fixed-bearing unicompartmental knee arthroplasty (UKA) for the treatment of isolated medial compartment osteoarthritis. A total of 218 patients were included who had undergone primary UKA at the tertiary hospital between 2000 and 2008. It was shown that for isolated medial compartment osteoarthritis, UKA and TKA are excellent treatment modalities, with similar functional outcomes, QoL, and satisfaction at 10 years.
