Researchers also aspired to affirm the observed positive effects following 6 months of treatment. It was discovered that safinamide markedly improved the Parkinson’s disease quality of life questionnaire (PDQ-39) items 37 ('painful cramps or spasm') and 39 ('unpleasantly hot or cold,') and substantially reduced the number of concomitant pain treatments.
