Allali A, et al. - A comparative assessment was pursued of the clinical outcomes of early generation drug-eluting stents (EG-DES) and new-generation drug-eluting stents (NG-DES) in patients undergoing rotational atherectomy (RA) in calcified lesions. It was noted that RA was carried out in more complex patients and lesions in the NG-DES era. However, the use of NG-DES exhibited a connection with lower rates of death and major adverse cardiac events (MACE) at 2 years than the EG-DES.
