Long-term changes of patient-reported quality of life after major trauma: The importance of the time elapsed after injury
Injury Oct 22, 2017
Fleischhacker E, et al. - Authors here assessed the long-term changes of patient-reported quality of life after major trauma to determine the importance of the time elapsed after injury. Researchers recognized an independent, U-shaped association between the frequency of extreme values of health-related quality of life (HRQOL) and the time elapsed after injury. Time patterns of HRQOL could be related to increasing rates of attrition since patients with a good outcome were less likely to respond to questionnaires. They recommended incorporating time from injury into all future cross sectional studies trying to identify predictors of HRQOL.
