Long-term (≥15 years) follow-up of percutaneous coronary intervention of unprotected left main (from the GRAVITY registry)
The American Journal of Cardiology Jul 30, 2021
D'Ascenzo F, Elia E, Marengo G, et al. - Researchers assessed long term survival as well as its determinants following Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) on Unprotected Left Main Coronary Artery (ULMCA). They analyzed 470 consecutive patients undergoing PCI on ULMCA between 2002 and 2005. In this overall cohort, men comprised 81.5% of patients. Participants had a mean age of 66 ± 12 years. Deaths of 47% of the patients occurred after 15 years; 17% died because of cardiovascular causes. An elevated risk of all cause death was observed in relation to factors such as age, number of vessels treated during index PCI and depressed LVEF, while re-PCI on ULMCA had no influence on survival.
