Long-segment pulmonary artery resection to avoid pneumonectomy: Long-term results after prosthetic replacement
European Journal of Cardio-Thoracic Surgery Oct 05, 2017
DÂAndrilli A, et al. - Researchers here documented the long-term results of their experience with long-segment pulmonary artery resection using various techniques and materials to avoid pneumonectomy. Resection of the long PA segment followed by conduit or wide patch reconstruction proved a feasible, safe and effective option to avoid pneumonectomy. To provide adequate tissue characteristics, different biological materials can be used; the choice was made on a case-by-case basis. Long-term results supported the oncological reliability of this operation.
