Long non-coding RNA lnc-PCTST predicts prognosis through inhibiting progression of pancreatic cancer by downregulation of TACC‐3
International Journal of Cancer Nov 21, 2018
Wang Y, et al. - Given that numerous long noncoding RNAs (lncRNA) have been established to be essential for pancreatic cancer (PC) tumorigenesis and progression, researchers investigated the exact expression pattern of lnc-PCTST and its clinical significance. They used a Microarray-coarray technique to determine the expression pattern of lnc-PCTST and its related mRNA in three paired PC tissues and adjacent non-tumor tissues. In PC tissues, down-regulation of lnc-PCTST expression was observed. In addition, a negative correlation of lnc-PCTST with transforming acidic coiled-coil 3 (TACC-3) expression was seen. Overall, lnc-PCTST was identified as a potential tumor suppressor in PC. Via TACC-3 modulation, cell proliferation, invasion, tumorigenesis and EMT were found to be inhibited by lnc-PCTST.
