Long non-coding RNA GATA6-AS1 upregulates GATA6 to regulate the biological behaviors of lung adenocarcinoma cells
BMC Pulmonary Medicine May 28, 2021
Kang H, Ma D, Zhang J, et al. - Researchers investigated the expression levels as well as the biological mechanism of GATA6-AS1 (the novel long non-coding RNA GATA binding protein 6 antisense RNA 1) in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) cells. They analyzed LUAD tissues to determine GATA6-AS1 expression. Through reverse transcription quantitative PCR analysis, GATA6-AS1 expression in LUAD cells was assessed. GATA6-AS1 expression was identified to be low-expressed in LUAD tissues as well as cells. Findings revealed that not only repression of LUAD cell proliferation, migration as well as invasion was brought about by GATA6-AS1, but it also promoted cell apoptosis through regulation of the miR-4530/GATA6 axis, suggesting GATA6-AS1 can serve as a new prognostic biomarker for LUAD.
