Long‐term follow‐up after radiation therapy for laryngeal amyloidosis
The Laryngoscope Oct 10, 2020
Bertelsen C, Chadwick K, Holland J, et al. - Given that laryngeal amyloidosis (LA) is an uncommon disease characterized by extracellular protein deposition within the larynx, researchers conducted this retrospective case series to describe the experience with adjuvant RT for LA at the center. The sample consisted of patients with amyloidosis of the larynx, with or without other disease sites, seen at a tertiary academic center between 2011 and 2019. Ten patients met criteria for inclusion. Without unacceptable toxicity, RT after surgery for LA may provide good local control and may minimise the need for further surgery.
