Murphy DJ, et al. - In this study involving 10 subjects with biopsy-proven malignant pleural mesothelioma (MPM), researchers investigated the performance of ¹⁸F-FDG PET/MRI in the loco-regional staging of MPM. Consecutive subjects with MPM undergoing pre-operative staging were prospectively studied with ¹⁸F-FDG PET/CT undergoing integrated ¹⁸F-FDG PET/MRI on the same day. According to findings, ¹⁸F-FDG PET/MRI clinical MPM staging is feasible and potentially provides loco-regional staging with greater accuracy than PET/CT, especially in T staging.
