Local infiltration analgesia: A 2-year follow-up of patients undergoing total hip arthroplasty

Kuchalik J, et al. – This study investigated the postoperative benefits as well as safety of local infiltration analgesia (LIA) in a 2–year follow–up in patients who underwent total hip arthroplasty (THA). In patients who received LIA or intrathecal morphine (ITM), functional outcome, quality of life, and post–discharge surgical pain did not differ significantly. Furthermore, LIA was found to be a safe technique for THA during the long–term follow–up.
