LncRNA SNHG16 facilitates nasopharyngeal carcinoma progression by acting as ceRNA to sponge miR-520a-3p and upregulate MAPK1 expression
Cancer Management and Research May 28, 2021
Wu Q, Zhao Y, Shi R, et al. - Researchers investigated the potential function as well as the molecular mechanism of lncRNA SNHG16 in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC). They employed RT-qPCR assay to assess the levels of SNHG16, miR-520a-3p, and MAPK1. NPC tissues and cells exhibited overexpression of SNHG16. A poor prognosis was suggested by high SNHG16 expression. Significant inhibition of cell proliferation and metastasis, cell apoptosis in NPC cells, as well as repression of tumor growth and metastasis in vivo, all could be brought about by SNHG16 knockdown. According to findings, SNHG16 behaves as an oncogene in NPC progression by modulating the miR-520a-3p/MAPK1 axis.
