American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology Dec 09, 2017
Johannesson L, et al. - Researchers here examined the interest of recipients and living donors in their uterus transplantation program. In addition, they described the screening protocol developed and the results of the screening and reports demographic data and characteristics of screened candidates. In this work, both potential recipients and donors showed a great interest in participating in a trial of uterus transplantation. Here, they showed interest in nondirected donation for the first time. They identified the essentiality for a sufficient but thoughtful screening process of living donors and recipients. This screening process should aim both to assure their safety and to provide good quality grafts.
