Annals of Internal Medicine Mar 06, 2018
Thorn BE, et al. - The efficacy of literacy-adapted and simplified group cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) versus group pain education (EDU) versus usual care for the management of chronic pain was determined. Patients in the CBT and EDU interventions presented with greater post-treatment improvement than those receiving usual care in terms of physical function. A marked improvement was noted in the pain and physical function through simplified group CBT and EDU interventions delivered at low-income clinics than with usual care.
