Lisinopril vs lisinopril and losartan for mild childhood IgA nephropathy: A randomized controlled trial (JSKDC01 study)
Pediatric Nephrology Mar 22, 2019
Shima Y, et al. - Among 63 children with biopsy-proven proteinuric mild IgA nephropathy enrolled in this open-label, multicenter, prospective, and randomized phase II controlled trial, researchers compared lisinopril monotherapy to combination therapy of lisinopril and losartan, focusing on efficacy and safety. The goal was to determine a better treatment option for this patient population. They found that the two treatment options did not differ in terms of proteinuria disappearance rate (primary endpoint) in patients as well as with regard to side effects, no significant differences were found. Since combination therapy offered no advantages, they proposed lisinopril monotherapy as treatment for these patients.
