Lipid profile and subsequent cardiovascular disease among adults aged < 50 years
The American Journal of Cardiology Dec 11, 2020
Kaneko H, Itoh H, Kiriyama H, et al. - This study was intended to evaluate the relationship of lipid profile with subsequent cardiovascular disease (CVD) among young adults. Researchers performed multivariable Cox regression analyses to distinguish the relationship between lipid profile and the subsequent risk of CVD and applied multiple imputations for missing data on body mass index, waist circumference, hypertension, diabetes mellitus, and cigarette smoking in the database. A close association was observed between lipid profile and subsequent CVD in this comprehensive analysis of a nationwide epidemiological database, implying the importance of maintaining an optimal lipid profile for the primary prevention of CVD in young generations.
