Link between physical activity type in adolescence and body composition in adulthood
Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise Dec 14, 2017
Belanger M, et al. - This trial was designed in order to determine if the type of physical activity (PA) (sports, running, fitness/dance) engaged in during adolescence exhibited a connection with body composition in late adolescence or early adulthood. As per findings, sustaining participation in running, but not in other PA types, during adolescence was associated with lower body composition in later adolescence and adulthood. In order to examine if this association was due to a correlation between PA and body composition in early adolescence, further exploration was warranted.
