Lifestyle and pregnancy complications in polycystic ovary syndrome: The SCOPE Cohort Study
Clinical Endocrinology Feb 27, 2019
Khomami MB, et al. - After consideration of lifestyle factors, researchers studied the risk of pregnancy complications in women with and without polycystic ovary syndrome. The study population included 5,628 participants who were apparently healthy nulliparous women with singleton pregnancies from the Screening for Pregnancy Endpoints study in New Zealand, Australia, United Kingdom and Ireland. Findings suggested an association of polycystic ovary syndrome with a lower risk of large for gestational age infants. According to this prospective cohort, the risk of pregnancy complications in women with polycystic ovary syndrome who followed a healthy lifestyle was not increased in this low-risk population.
