Researchers randomized 106 patients undergoing hypertonic saline volume preloading prior to spinal anesthesia to two groups of 53 each. They recorded visual analogue scale (VAS) scores of vascular pain every 4 min. Via hypertonic saline infusion, lidocaine coinfusion could effectively alleviate vascular pain induced.
