Levels of physical activity in children and adolescents with asthma: A systematic review and meta‐analysis
Pediatric Pulmonology Feb 13, 2021
Vasconcello‐Castillo L, Torres‐Castro R, Sepúlveda‐Cáceres N, et al. - By performing this systematic review of five databases, researchers not only assessed the different methods and tools adopted to measure physical activity (PA) but also compared the PA levels of children and adolescents suffering from asthma vs those of their healthy peers. The data synthesis involved 28 articles reporting on 3,184 patients. According to the findings, moderate to vigorous PA, steps/day, and sedentary time noted in children and adolescents with asthma were similar to those observed in the controls. Questionnaires and accelerometers were identified as the main tools employed.
