- For this study, information were gathered by interviewing four hundred eleven systematically selected members at outpatient department of Amanuel Mental Specialized Hospital.
- For analysis, logistic regression and adjusted odds ratios (AOR) with 95% confidence intervals (CI) were utilized, and P < 0.05 was considered statistically significant.
- The results of this study showed that the prevalence of abuse (verbal/physical) was 37.7%.
- Having at least two episodes [AOR 1.70, 95% CI (1.06, 2.74)], a history of aggression [AOR 3.06, 95% CI (1.63, 5.75)] and comorbid illness [AOR 2.21, 95% CI (1.25, 3.90)] were significantly related.
