Kansal V, et al. - Researchers here reviewed the predictors and outcomes of late open surgical conversion for failed endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR). Observations revealed that open surgical conversion following EVAR leads to significant morbidity and mortality. Instructions for use (IFU) adherence of EVARs later requiring open surgical conversion was markedly low. Indications for conversion were: Type 1 endoleak with sac expansion, Type 2 endoleak with expansion, migration, sac expansion without endoleak, graft infection, rupture.
