Mohseny AB, et al. - The purpose of this trial was to determine the risk of urinary tract infection (UTI) in premature infants with central lines, suspected of late-onset sepsis. Urine analysis was advised routinely when signs of infection occurred beyond 72 h after birth. The recommendation put forth was to avoid delay in the urine collection and to perform cultures, preferably, prior to the start of the antibiotic treatment.
