Clinical Rheumatology Jun 24, 2018
Matraiah EH, et al. - Authors characterized the profile of Pneumocystis jirovecii pneumonia (PJP) in patients with associated vasculitis (AAV). Findings suggested that at AAV diagnosis renal involvement was associated with PJP. After AAV diagnosis, PJP was not limited to the first 6 months. Experts noted probable occurrence of late-onset infection in context of augmented immunotherapy, particularly with concurrent lymphopenia. The overall mortality was noted to be 12.5%.
