Late gadolinium enhancement on cardiac magnetic resonance imaging is associated with coronary endothelial dysfunction in patients with dilated cardiomyopathy
Heart and Vessels Oct 23, 2017
Nakayama M, et al. - Patients with dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) were assessed for the link between endothelium-dependent coronary vasomotor abnormality and late gadolinium enhancement (LGE) on cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMR). In this patient population, an association was evident, between acetylcholine (ACh)-provoked coronary vasomotor abnormality and myocardial fibrosis. Overall, it was suggested that coronary endothelial dysfunction has implication in myocardial fibrosis and worsening heart failure concomitant with DCM.
