Laryngeal synovial sarcoma: A systematic review of the last 40 years of reported cases
ENT Journal Jul 21, 2019
Shein G, et al. - For patients with synovial sarcoma of the larynx, researchers examined the diagnostic methods, treatment regimens, and survival results. A total of 39 cases have been reviewed from 32 studies in the data extraction for this PROSPERO-registered study. Findings revealed that there was no association between clinicopathological factors or treatment regimens and improved overall survival or a lower rate of recurrence. Clinical approaches to this extremely aggressive sarcoma are lacking in literature. Case reporting needs to be standardized and formal rules to guide clinical management need to be created.
