Laparoscopic repair of inguinal hernia in infants: Comparison with open hernia repair

Ho IG, et al. - The usefulness of laparoscopic repair of inguinal hernia (LR) in comparison with open hernia repair (OR) was examined in infants. Compared to OR, LR in infants demonstrated a lower incidence of metachronous hernia, shorter operation times, and better postoperative course. Researchers suggested considering LR as the primary operation method in infants with inguinal hernia.
