Laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair by modified peritoneal leaflet closure: Description and initial results in children

Van Batavia JP, et al. - Researchers described a modified laparoscopic herniorrhaphy using a peritoneal leaflet closure and reported the operative experience with intermediate-term results. Findings suggested that when used in infants and children for closing an indirect hernia (ie, patent processus vaginalis), laparoscopic herniorrhaphy using a peritoneal leaflet closure technique was safe and effective. A success rate of 97% was noted with no intraoperative complications.
