Schlottmann F, et al. - The authors aimed at comparing the outcome of POEM and laparoscopic Heller myotomy (LHM) for the treatment of esophageal achalasia. They observed that in relieving dysphagia, POEM was more effective but was associated with a very high incidence of pathologic reflux.
