Laparoscopic gastroesophageal dissociation in neurologically impaired children with gastroesophageal reflux disease
Journal of Pediatric Surgery Nov 08, 2017
DeAntonio JH, et al. - Researchers here aimed at resting the hypothesis that a laparoscopic gastroesophageal dissociation (LGED) may decrease reflux-related readmissions and healthcare visits, and improve quality of life (QOL) for them and their caregivers. Based on the perceptions of the caregivers, a reduction in readmissions and healthcare visits, and improved QOL after undergoing an LGED were evident. An LGED could be a viable alternative to traditional treatments in neurologically impaired patients with severe gastroesophageal reflux disease.
