Laparoscopic common bile duct exploration plus cholecystectomy vs endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography plus laparoscopic cholecystectomy for cholecystocholedocholithiasis: A meta-analysis
Surgical Endoscopy Sep 09, 2019
Lyu Y, et al. - The safety and effectiveness of laparoscopic common bile duct exploration plus laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LCBDE+LC) vs preoperative endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography plus laparoscopic cholecystectomy (pre-ERCP+LC) for cholecystocholedocholithiasis were determined. In this meta-analysis, researchers included 12 randomized controlled trials involving 1,545 patients. Outcomes revealed a higher common bile duct stone clearance rate, lower postoperative bile leakage rate, and a higher rate of pancreatitis among cases who underwent pre-ERCP+LC. The hospital stay may shorten on performing LCBDE+LC.
