Lamotrigine in the prevention of migraine with aura: A narrative review
Headache: The Journal of Head and Face Pain Sep 09, 2019
Buch D, Chabriat H. - Researchers reviewed the data from the literature to summarize the efficacy of lamotrigine for treating migraine with aura (MA) specifically. Relevant reports identified using PUBMED indicated that testing of lamotrigine was done in different populations of migraineurs. However, previous studies had small sample sizes (n < 35) and might not have been powered enough for identifying a potential benefit of lamotrigine in MA. Accumulating evidence support the possible efficacy of lamotrigine in reducing both the frequency and severity of aura symptoms in multiple conditions; it was also had good tolerability.
