Lactate is a prognostic factor in patients admitted with suspected ST-elevation myocardial infarction
Shock Feb 21, 2019
Frydland M, et al. - Authors studied 2,247 individuals to examine the prognostic significance of lactate concentration in patients admitted with suspected ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). They recorded predictive data on 30-day mortality to the combination of signs of peripheral hypoperfusion, systolic blood pressure (sBP), and left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) with lactate estimation when combined with variables used in cardiogenic shock-definition. They suggested lactate determination in STEMI-cases particularly when indications of endangered hemodynamics were present.
