Zhao CN, et al. - In this meta-analysis experts sought to derive a more accurate estimation of the possibility of using mean platelet volume (MPV) as a biomarker for disease activity in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Consistent results were demonstrated by subgroup analyses stratified by age or region. No significant change was noted when any one study was excluded. The use of MPV as an indicator for monitoring disease activity in SLE patient was not supported in the findings.
