Pasca L, et al. - Researchers undertook a scrutiny of the efficacy and tolerability of the ketogenic diet (KD) as a treatment for drug-resistant epilepsy secondary to malformations of cortical development. Individuals with malformations of post migrational development reported the best response. Taking into account its tolerability, findings recommended the use of KD in patients with drug-resistant epilepsy secondary to malformations of cortical development when surgery was not a viable option.
