Shi J, et al. - In view of the controversial opinion regarding the application of atropine for pediatric sedation in the Emergency Department, researchers performed a comprehensive review of the literature and assessed the clinical indexes in groups with and without atropine use. In this work, the group receiving atropine had reduced hypersalivation and increased rash and tachycardia. They noted no differences in nausea, vomiting, desaturation, agitation and laryngospasm between the two groups.
