Ketamine exposure demographics and outcomes over 16 years as reported to US poison centers
The American Journal of Emergency Medicine May 14, 2018
Ni A, et al. - Researchers here examined ketamine exposures reported to US poison centers over the past 16years and identified trends in exposures and outcomes. They evaluated a total of 3,109 cases and noted that single-agent ketamine exposures reported to US poison centers have rebounded to historical peaks in recent years. For single agent ketamine exposures, intentional exposures (65% of all cases) were the most common reason. Ketamine exposures involving multiple substances were reported to be associated with more deaths and serious outcomes.
