JESREC score and mucosal eosinophilia can predict endotypes of chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps
Auris Nasus Larynx Sep 24, 2018
Nakayama T, et al. - Authors gauged if JESREC score and mucosal eosinophil count were suitable for classifying chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) subgroups into endotypes. They conducted a cross-sectional study with 71 consecutive patients with CRS with nasal polyps (CRSwNP) and 13 control patients. Different inflammatory patterns were demonstrated by the CRS subtypes based on JESREC score and mucosal eosinophil count, and the classification that can predict endotypes was supported by the unsupervised statistical analyses. For predicting CRS endotypes, classification based on JESREC score and mucosal eosinophil count was valuable.
