Hecht SL, et al. - The case of an 18 month-old female with isolated malignant rhabdoid tumors (MRTs, rare, aggressive tumors with a poor prognosis) of the bladder which was originally misdiagnosed as an inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor on biopsy was reported. The history, tumor biology, histology, and prevailing management of extrarenal MRT, as well as lessons learned from the complexity with the patient's primary diagnosis, were reviewed.
