Najafi A, Nosrati MRC, Ghasemi E, et al. - Researchers performed the first meta-analysis investigating the possible correlation between Trichomonas vaginalis infection and the risk of prostate cancer (PCa). Performing systematic search of PubMed/Medline, Scopus, Embase, Web of Science, Cinhal, Wiley, Cochrane, Psychoinfo, ProQuest and Google Scholar, they identified and included six eligible entries in this meta-analysis, comprising 5,590 individuals (2,677 PCa cases and 2,913 control individuals) examined for trichomoniasis. The cases and controls comprised a total of 469 (17.51%) and 482 (16.54%) individuals, respectively, who were positive for trichomoniasis. People with previous T. vaginalis infection were noted to be at a 1.17-fold increased risk of PCa.
