Ruf K, et al. - This research was designed to analyze sweat secretion rate and chloride concentration in sweat samples of patients with Down syndrome (DS) in comparison to healthy controls. In patients with DS, sweat chloride concentrations were within the normal range and thus seemed to be a reliable tool for testing for cystic fibrosis (CF). In the DS group, a reduced sweat secretion rate was found.
